Why Jac?coaching philosophy |
As a working voiceover actor myself, I am intimately familiar with the ups and downs and ins and outs of our wild industry. I started in the world of musical theater, am a classically trained singer with a degree in psychology, and always, always approach scripts as an actor. I will of course help you do the same! In my VO career, I've worked on national campaigns, character roles in radio spots, and everything in between. I have taught masterclasses for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation VO Lab. I've been invited (and invited back!) to work with college students on VO technique at NYU and at Pace, and have found teaching and coaching to be deeply rewarding and enjoyable. I love the collaborative process of working on copy in a session, and finding more nuances and fun in the work together than we might find on our own. People tell me I am funny and fun and loving, and you can see if you agree!
In a sentence, I want to help you be your very best. Are you brand new to voiceover? Have you been at the mic for years, but need to shake things up a bit? Whoever you are, if you want to uncover *your* unique voice and style, hone it and own it, and have fun while doing it, then I just might be the coach for you. I work intuitively to identify your strengths and help you lean into them. I excel at being an authentic cheerleader, and one of my goals is to make sure you feel empowered every time you leave a session with me. I will help you understand what you do well, and guide you to find other ways to do great things. I will also honestly assess what your challenges are, and help you work with yourself instead of against yourself.

What to Expect |
If you have copy you want to work on with me, that's great! If you don't, that's great too - I will bring commercial scripts to our session. A one-hour coaching session with me will be tailored to your individual needs. There will be lots of you reading and me directing/suggesting/playing. We can work on one piece of copy for as long as you like, or try out multiple styles. We might watch and analyze samples of commercials that have aired recently, or talk about improv in radio spots, or giggle together about flubs. We will connect over zoom, and you can be in your studio, or even just read to me over your computer mic. And, of course, you are welcome to record our session and re-visit it whenever you like!

One hour private coaching session: $200
We will meet over zoom for one hour and work on material of your choice, or I will provide commercial copy for us to play with. 30-minute coaching session or audition prep: $100 A shorter, more compact version of the above. Or, for a more immediate goal, I will work with you on any upcoming audition for 30 minutes, coaching you to make sure you feel confident in what you are submitting. I can work with you over zoom before you do your final record, or can coach you while you record and help you choose which takes to submit, your choice! Zoom VO Labs/Workshops: $100 VO Labs will be held over zoom, and the number of participants will be limited to ensure that everyone has focused time at the mic with direction from me. Auditors may be considered, depending upon interest and timing. We will learn from each other in a group setting that will be positive, uplifting, authentic, and fun.
